Diamond Hat Knitting Pattern

A slouchy beanie hat in a diamond relief stitch.

Ability: Easy
Skills Required: You will be required to work a basic knit and purl pattern following a symbols chart.
Yarn Type: I used 100% Italian Merino Wool in Aran weight from Baruffa in Dormouse 306 colour (Machine Washable), approximately 3 x 50g balls (68m/74y per 50g)

You could use any Aran weight yarn but be careful to match our tension and check the yardage on your substitute yarn to ensure the correct end measurements.

One size fits an average adult head for Men and Women with extra slouch.
Adult head circumference of up to 58cm/22½in
Actual circumference at brim: 48cm / 19in
Height: 32cm/12in

Approximately 3 x 50g balls (68m/74y per 50g)*

Yarn amounts are based on average requirements and are approximate. You may wish to order an extra ball/skein to be sure you have sufficient yarn.

Materials Required:
One pair each of 3 ¾ mm (U.S 5) and 5mm (U.S 9) straight needles
Tapestry needle for sewing up

Tension:
In diamond pattern (as chart) using 5mm (US 8) needles:
20sts x 23rows over 10 x 10cm (4x 4in)
Adjust your needle size to match this tension.
